Academic Search Complete
Provides full text for more than 3,430 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. Features PDF content going back as far as 1887, but the bulk of the sources are from the 1970s going forward. This database is updated on a daily basis.

Background Notes (State Department)
Publications from the U.S. Dept. of State that include facts about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent states, some dependencies, and areas of special sovereignty, updated rotationally.

Bibliography of Asian Studies (1971 - Current)
Contains over 680,000 records, principally in western languages, on all subjects (especially in the humanities and the social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast, and South Asia published worldwide from 1971 to the present.

Britannica Online Korea
Access this through the EB Global Reference site. Korean language encyclopedia, including more than110,000 articles from the Korean version of Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Korean Britannica Book of the Year, Yonsei University's Korean Dictionary, and a world atlas. Also has more than 19,300 photos, graphic, animations, videos, and audio clips.

Britannica Pocket Encyclopedia
Access this through the EB Global Reference site.

Chinese language encyclopedia includes 14,000 articles in Simplified Chinese with 1,600 images and 200 maps.

CIAO (Columbia International Affairs Online) (1991 - Current)
A full-text online database for political science, international affairs, foreign policy, area studies, international relations, war and peace studies and diplomatic history containing working papers, journals, books, policy briefs, case studies, and course packs. Also includes an atlas from the Economist Intelligence Unit, featuring maps and country data, including political and economic reports.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Online Japan
Japanese language encyclopedia with over 155,000 articles from the "Britannica International Encyclopedia
" and 8,500 images, illustrations and maps.

Global Road Warrior
Detailed country information, including climate, society and culture, business culture, money and banking, security, health, transportation, and communication. Also includes maps from the World Trade Press for each country, showing political, physical, population, and climate features.

International Political Science Abstracts (1975 - Current)
Produced by the International Political Science Association, includes current indexing and abstracts of the world's leading journals in political science. This database covers nearly 900 journals published from 1975 to the present.

Latin America Data Base (LABD)
The longest running, exclusively on-line, English language news service about Latin America, LADB produces three weekly electronic publications (Sourcemex, NotiCen and NotiSur) and maintains an on-line searchable data base of over 24,000 articles as well as Latin American journals.

LexisNexis Academic
Full text access to a wide range of news, business, legal, and reference information. Includes Hoover's Company Data.

World Scholar: Latin America and the Caribbean
Contains a rich collection of primary source documents about Latin America and the Caribbean; academic journals and news feeds covering the region; reference articles and commentary; maps and statistics; audio and video; and more.

ClasePeriodica
An index of articles, essays, book reviews, monographs, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews and brief notes published in journals edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from publications that focus on Pan-American issues. CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities. PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology. Together, they offer access to citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages.

Open-access data from the World Bank, contains the full World Development Indicators (WDI); Global Development Finance (GDF); and Africa Development Indicators (ADI), as well as several other World Bank databases. Can be searched by country, by topic, or by indicators.

Fuente Academica
A unique collection of scholarly academic journals from renowned Latin American and Spanish publishers, this database provides full text coverage (including PDF) for nearly 200 scholarly Spanish language journals. Content is provided in Spanish from respected publishers worldwide.

Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies
Citations in the social sciences and humanities for material published in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe.

World Bank data

World Data Analyst Online (2004 - Current)
For analyzing countries easily, this tool offers detailed statistical comparisons of countries around the world, using both the most recent statistics and historical figures, combined with the ability to create tables, charts, and even export the information to a spreadsheet for printing and data crunching.
