Policies and General InformationWhat is ILL and When to Use itInterlibrary Loan is a service that allows participating libraries throughout the world to borrow books, articles, book chapters and other materials from one another. It is intended to provide materials for scholarly research and to supplement classroom learning.
ILL should be used to order books only after it has been determined that is not available through Carrolline

Who is eligible to use Interlibrary Loan?Any JCU faculty, currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate student, staff and administrator may use ILL services. We ask that requests are prioritized and only items that will be picked up be ordered. Borrower's ObligationsBorrowing materials from another library is a privilege. Please abide by all restrictions set by the lending institution and return materials on time. Fines will accrue on overdue materials. Any lost or damaged items will be paid for by the borrowing patron. What is available through ILL?
What is not available through ILL?
Delivery Methods, Timeframes and PickupArticles and book chapters are usually delivered to your Illiad account 3-5 business days after your request has been submitted. If you submit your request directly from one of the databases, it could be much faster. Or if you prefer, you can choose no to electronic delivery and pick it up at the circulation desk. Loans are coming from outside of Ohio sometimes by Library rate and depending on the lending library can take anywhere from 5 to 14 business days. Loans need to be signed for and picked up at the circulation desk. |
